ABOUT THE AUTHOR/ARTIST

Professor Potts is a dashing investigator who loves nothing more than jet-setting around the world exploring scientific mysteries. His butler has a PhD in nuclear science and his dog will only eat bones from the Jurassic period.

Aidan Potts -his alter ego- has a slightly more tedious biography. Aidan was born in London 1963 and 6 months later he moved to Nigeria, followed by Bogota, Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, Tripoli, Libya and the Turks and Caicos. He studied History of Art at University College London, then began working as an illustrator for the British press. Among his books are “Uneversaurus” and “The Smash Smash Truck”.

Pros and cons of English Idioms Illustrated app for iPhone and iPad

English Idioms Illustrated app good for

A great source of idioms and their origins! The art accompanying the explanations is simply wonderful. Be you a native English speaker or not, it really pays off!!!
This app is simply amazing for teachers, students and english lovers. I absolutely love it!!!
Learning idioms has become a fun activity with this lovely app and its beautiful illustrations. The background information is brief and witty, often humorous and will stick in your mind as the drawings complement the explanations so intelligently and imaginatively. Thank you for this brilliant language learners help.
I have a book with french and German Idioms with awesome illustrations. This App is a Good start.
The images and the stories do help to remember and keep the interest in the process of learning.
Its useful to learn idioms. The images are vivid and colorful, which will help me to remember them.

Some bad moments

The Pack 1&2 is not working. Am I going to get my money back??
You only get as and bs the rest you pay for and it aint cheap.
This app is a waste of time. Its not even downloading. So, totally not working and I cant even delete it from my iPhone! Geeez!
Graphics dont compensate the lack of a search function or the ability to enter ones sought for idiom, to determine its meaning. Good as reference but not as "I need it now" kind of tool. Sorry.
I like this app, but I would request few other features that would make it a five starts app. I would suggest adding a word-based, auto-fill search engine. And the second feature would be a star which automatically adds an idiom to a favorite list which can be navigated someway. The iPhone app needs an update to work as it should be since it doesnt support iPhone5 Despite these features, I appreciate the great effort behind this application.
Do not purchase any content from this app. It takes your money and nothing past "b" is added.
